Look out Skype - Google recently added audio and video chat capabilities to Gmail offering most of the same features as the aforementioned service and Apple's iChat.

I think that Laurel's blog on social networking and social media is definitely worth book marking. She writes interesting and insightful articles and is generous in sharing her powerpoint slides as well.
